Like all theater groups, we are known publicly for our work on stage. What makes Oasis unique?
We started from the premise, to paraphrase Truvy Jones (a character in Steel Magnolias), that "There is no such thing as natural performance." We work at honing our skills through workshops, improvisation, theater games, acting exercises and general cutting up. We reach beyond the specific show script we are working on to grow as individuals and as an ensemble. Because of this method, we have a longer rehearsal period for our shows. We work on stage movement, vocal production, stage picture development, dialogue, character development, and inter-relationships. It's physical, it's psychological, it's social, and above all -- it's fun.
The other important areas may get less attention, but are no less vital than what is seen on the stage. The following is a listing of just some of the ways to be a part of the ensemble.
